WE LOVE YOU!
We had such a fun day celebrating Chris' 28th birthday! I finally was able to pull off a surprise, so I was thrilled! We woke up and had fresh squeezed orange juice and cinnamon pull-aparts(another somewhat failed attempt...what am I doing wrong, mom??) and Chris opened his gifts. Attached to a big bag of salt water taffy was a note that told him to get ready because we were going to the CIRCUS! Chris' mom came down to watch Taylor and we headed out.
Thank you Lora!
Thank you Lora!
We had such a good time, we had great seats (love craigslist!) and we got there early enough for the pre-show where we actually got to go down on the floor, see some of the animals, watch some of the acrobats perform, and take pictures with the clowns.
(Emma loved this guy!)
The show was great, we did lots of dancing and clapping and the tigers and elephants were of course a huge hit. It really amazes me what they can do.
After naps, we walked to Baja Fresh for a birthday dinner and came home for some ice cream pie (thank you Brett & Kim for introducing me to this yummy and super easy dessert). Emma helped with putting this pie together yesterday and she could not have been more proud of herself. She stirred the ice cream and mashed up the butterfinger bars. So later in the day when she went to wait for Chris to get home from work, she asked for the "cake" and just stood there staring out the window holding it with such excitement and as soon as he walked in she yelled, "happy birthday!". It was priceless.
Thank you for all you do! It's going to be a great year for you!

Happy Birthday Chris!!! (We kept meaning to call yesterday, but always when we were without phone service.) Megan... one question. Why did you make an ice cream pie for a lactose intolerant birthday boy?
Sounds like you had a great time at the circus...I'm glad you were able to pull off the surprise!
Happy Birthday!!! We took Jasmyn to the circus for my birthday one year. I loved it! So- How did Chris do with the pie? We love you guys.
I knew I should have put (lactose free)! They do have one ice cream that is truly lactose free...so definitely not as good as the mint chip in BI but we mashed butterfingers to give it some taste. He loved it! I got use to it.
Was that Michael Jackson?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS!!
Happy Birthday Chris! Sounds like it was a lot of fun. I love the circus but it's so dang expensive to get seats close enough for the kids to really enjoy, I hadn't thought about Craigslist. Fun!
By the way...what happened to your list of family/friends blogs?
Happy birthday Chris! I hope you enjoyed the circus. I tried to get us to the circus this year but I told the boys they had to choose between "Kung Fu Panda" and the circus. Cole replied, "Let's go to the movie because the circus comes every year but Kung Fu Panda only comes once." I guess he forgot about DVD's and watching his favorite movies so many times that his parents go insane. I hope you had a great day.
Chris-
Happy Birthday bro! I meant to email you earlier, but our computer crashed and we just got it up and running. I didn't forget, though. I don't think I have your phone # anymore either. Anyway, I'd love to talk to you. Give me a call when you get a chance.
Paul
