Celebrate!

On Tay's birthday we had Chris' parents over for pizza, gifts, and of course...CAKE!
She had no idea what was going on but was very happy with the mounds of paper and new toys to chew on.  It was fun to watch Emma be the "giver", it needs a lot of work but she did love making Taylor's birthday card and keeping the big gift a surprise!
Given Taylor's personality, I knew her first cake experience would be much more exciting then Emma's! Em was just way too apprehensive to dig in to such a thing.  Taylor started off with one hand picking off each polka dot but it didn't take long until I was cleaning cake off our blinds. Fun times!
And then a birthday miracle...Grandma and Papa Adcock gave Taylor a new stroller to "walk" with. I have to admit I was kind of laughing inside given that my child was just barely pulling herself to a stand.  But we gave it a shot, and off she went. A good 3 steps!

How fun! I wish I was there to see Emma's reaction to all the Taylor attention. I think it's so funny to watch the other kids on their siblings birthdays. I love the cake. Did you or Grandma make it? The polka dots are so cute.

Yeah, so Emma's reaction was pretty much summarized by her own words...

"I need to show taylor how to open gifts, how to play with them, and then how to say thank you"

And that's exactly what she did!

Yes, I made the cake. It was fun to make and simple. Definitely inspired by Tay and a lot by Betty Crocker!

P.S. you are up way too late!

Megan, you should start making birthday cakes for a living! You are really VERY good at it. I still think you might be lying about making Emma's Minnie Mouse cake...

Taylor is so darling! I love all the pictures with cake on her face. Notice I said I love the *pictures*. If I was there in real life I would have been curled up in the corner crying and praying that Taylor doesn't come near me.

I know I'm annoying, commenting on everything, I just thought it was funny that Charlise and Taylor have the same stroller with the same baby inside. So cute! Happy birthday, Taylor!!
