Roy Eugene Adcock
1932-2009

"I've lived one hell of a life"

These were the words my father-in-law spoke to the paramedics as he sat down on the gurney, we lost Roy a short week and a half later. He was a genuine and giving husband, father, brother and friend. One of the most generous people I have ever met. He was full of life, lived it to it's fullest and truly had no regrets. People came in from all over the country to give their condolences and shared stories of how Roy changed their lives even if it was just in a few short months of working with him. He is loved and will be greatly missed.

Roy loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He adored our girls, he was so proud of them. He'd tell of the funny or cute things they would do to anyone who would listen. We will cherish the moments he had with them and the girls will know of the great and wonderful Papa they have.

That is such a sweet blog...it made me cry. I wish we would have had more opportunities to socialize with Roy and Lora. We enjoyed their company so much on the few occasions we were together. I know Roy did so much for so many.

It's too bad you can't capture all of the things that were said about him at his memorial services on your blog. He sounds like he was an amazing man.

Megan, I have been on a family vacation and just posted Alex's letter on his blog and saw your comment! What a pleasant surprise! It is an honor to have our Son serve under your Parents! I am a bit sad he will miss out on what he can learn from your amazing father as his assistant, but as you can tell from his letters he wanted more than anything to be in the field finding and baptizing! He is a great kid! It will be sad when his emails come to an end, they have brought such joy into our home and family! I feel I know your amazing family, and I know it has been hard on all of you...but how blessed you must feel as you can see what is happening? It can only get better from here! I promise you, you will love what is to come! I hope I can someday meet you. We have a home in Phoenix and go there often, I know your Mom doesn't love it there but you still have some family there, so maybe we will meet up! I know Alex will want to have the opportunity to spend time again with your parents as he has grown to love and respect them. Keep in touch through the Blog! We think your Parents are the Best!
