5 Years! Best Anniversary Yet!

On Friday, Chris and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary by spending a little time in the city that brought us together! We ate at one of our favorite restaurants, Grand Lux and I have to say that their Miso Glazed Salmon is better than ever! We were surprised with a yummy dessert decorated to wish us a happy anniversary. After we completely stuffed ourselves, we were off to the Staples Center for Chris' surprise to me...the Taylor Swift concert! Yes, my husband is awesome!
(side note: we were so lame and did not get one pic together, so me and the molten chocolate cake will have to do!)
She's amazing and beautiful and I love what she has to say. I especially LOVE that after surprising us all by showing up at one of the tunnel entrances, she came down the stairs to a small revolving stage 10 rows in front of us and sang my favorite song...
Fifteen
And how cute are her boots!
(I had to include this picture so we could all play Name that Celebrity...notice Kelly Pickler, her opening act, and Perez Hilton. The VIP section was right in front of us)

It does not get better than that or...maybe it does...Yes, that's John Mayer. They were great together. Total understatement. Total surprise.
I'll never forget the day I met Chris, best decision I mad e was accepting his help to hang that Institute banner! It didn't take long to fall for that so cute, fresh off his mission boy! There were lots of fun times to follow as we dated. Now 5 years and 2 kids later, we're still having the best of times!

Our Fun Weekend

...with Grandma and Papa
(except for one minor problem...finding the hugest fattest wiggling worm in my half eaten teriyaki bowl from PEI WEI! well at least we know their spinach is fresh, right! that was my favorite explanation!)
We miss you already and THANKS for the new toy! The girls LOVE it!
P.S. what will we do without them for 3 years!!

Celebrate!

On Tay's birthday we had Chris' parents over for pizza, gifts, and of course...CAKE!
She had no idea what was going on but was very happy with the mounds of paper and new toys to chew on.  It was fun to watch Emma be the "giver", it needs a lot of work but she did love making Taylor's birthday card and keeping the big gift a surprise!
Given Taylor's personality, I knew her first cake experience would be much more exciting then Emma's! Em was just way too apprehensive to dig in to such a thing.  Taylor started off with one hand picking off each polka dot but it didn't take long until I was cleaning cake off our blinds. Fun times!
And then a birthday miracle...Grandma and Papa Adcock gave Taylor a new stroller to "walk" with. I have to admit I was kind of laughing inside given that my child was just barely pulling herself to a stand.  But we gave it a shot, and off she went. A good 3 steps!

My baby turns 1!

and how much does she look like me here!!?

This little girl has just absolutely stolen my heart.

Here are some reasons why...

She is the most TICKLISH baby I've ever met...especially around her neck. The smallest touch will send her into a wiggle dance.

She's an independent EXPLORER and likes to get into everything. Maybe the key word here is INDEPENDENT and not explorer!

She loves to look at books and point to the different objects with her MIDDLE FINGER, it's awesome!

She ROLLS with the PUNCHES.  Whether it's being pulled by her itty bitty ankles across the hard wood floor or having to hold on for dear life to the wagon as her sister pulls her along...it's all fun to her!

She is a WATER BABY, when we start running the bath she'll crawl as fast as she can to the bathroom oohing and ahhing the whole way.

Her favorite food is BEAN & CHEESE BURRITOS...enough said!

Her ACROBATICS!  One of her favorite pastimes is crawling up on a pillow just to roll off followed by the best baby headstand you'll ever see!  Not to mention her turbo speed army crawl!

She LOVES her SISTER! Just the sound of Emma's voice sends Taylor jumping out of my arms.

Speaking of her sister...I love that no matter how many times Emma will take a toy away from Taylor, she does not give up. She will go straight back to claim what's hers. DETERMINED.

CLAPS when excited and KICKS her legs when she wants to be held, how could I ever resist!

She loves being OUTSIDE. Going for walks calms her and recently we've learned that sand does not scare her one bit!

Her funny DANCE MOVES! She's already lovin' music and joining in on our 5 o'clock dance parties.

...and I love love love her sweet calm nature and her BIG GUMMY (all tongue) GRIN

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAYLOR!

Mothers

Yesterday was a really wonderful day. I felt loved, special, and valued as a wife, mother and daughter.
I'm so blessed to have these sweet girls to wake up to everyday and grateful to a Mother who has shown me the way, led, and raised me as she did.
Not to mention these other beautiful ladies who have been such great examples to me. Love you all! Happy Mother's Day!
